John Reny Ashton Woods has named John Reny as the new Atlanta Division President and Michael Escarra as the Vice President of Finance. Reny will be the third person to hold this position in the past two years. Atlanta has been particularly hard hit as it relates to division presidents working for nationals over the past several years as nationals scramble for market share in a market that has run out of cheap lots.

Ken Balogh, President and CEO of Ashton Woods comments, “We are thrilled to welcome John Reny back to lead our Atlanta team and build on the success of one of Ashton Woods’ largest divisions.” He continues, “His achievements in the Central Florida market are a great testament to both his strategic and operational focus and, above all, his passion for homebuilding.  We look forward to the new opportunities he will bring to our Atlanta division and the guidance he will provide this team well into the future.”

Reny has worked for Ashton Woods for more than 20 year. He started his career in Atlanta with Ashton Woods as a Construction Manager and held multiple positions in the organization before making the move to Orlando where he served as Ashton Wood’s Florida Division President for 16 years. Reny had tremendous success growing the division into a stable and financially successful operation by leading and supporting his team of operators, moving swiftly and opportunistically in response to market changes and challenges.

“I’m honored that Ashton Woods has provided me the opportunity to lead the Atlanta division and return to where my career with the company first began 20-years ago,” said Reny. While he was born and raised in Texas, he says, “Since first moving to Atlanta in 1996, it has always felt like home to me.  I am excited to return and advance the growth of this division with the rest of their extraordinary leadership team.”
