Imagine choosing the layout and all the design elements of a dream home. That’s the mission of Arthur Rutenberg Homes. On today’s All About Real Estate segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, Ben Lively joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to discuss ways Arthur Rutenberg Homes is customizing Atlanta Homes.
Lively says that Arthur Rutenberg Homes began in Florida in the 1950s, and in the 1970s saw a way to partner with local builders in other cities to provide custom homes and the personal experience of working with a small, local builder. In this way, Lively says home buyers get to know the people building their home and also have the luxury of choosing from a vast array of home plans and design elements to create a one-of-a-kind home.
Arthur Rutenberg Homes is building all over the Atlanta metro area, from I-20 and north toward Alpharetta. Buyers sit down and look through over 300 active home designs and then compare what they like best about each one. From there, they sit with Lively and “redline the plans” and send them to their team of in-house architects to customize. “You can even start from scratch, bringing in a magazine photo or the ideas you’ve had in mind for years.” From there, buyers spend two days with the design team selecting every single item for their homes, and leave with a complete price. “There are no surprises” as they build. Additionally, this helps production move smoothly because all decisions are made up front.
In late September, Arthur Rutenberg Homes will open a 3,000 square foot design center in Atlanta to complement the other two in existence in North Carolina and Florida. “The process is simple and streamlines,” Lively says, “And it ought to be fun.”
To get an idea of what Arthur Rutenberg can build, they’ve opened a fully furnished model home at 1202 Goodwin Road in Atlanta, a 5,500 square foot beauty. This home has a glass enclosed wine cabinet in the center of the main living space, a 16 foot glass wall that disappears into pockets to give unobstructed access to the outside entertaining space and more elegant design elements.
