Today I had the privilege of being one of the first people to tour the luxury Atlanta Loews Hotel, which will be opening later this Spring. The event was a 12th & Midtown tweet-up, where we finally were able to meet in-person all of the people we have been conversing with through Twitter. We were given an overview of the Loews brand and then a detailed tour through the elegant lobby, restaurant, guest suites and conference center. And, let me just say, that Atlanta visitors are in for a treat once this hotel opens for reservations.
The overall ambiance of the hotel is comfort. They want their guests to be as comfortable as possible in the hotel, and that begins with a welcome greeting. Instead of tradition front desk receptionists, bell hops, concierge, etc., the Loews Hotel will have lobby attendants eager to make your first impression of the hotel unforgettable. They will greet you at the door and help with your bags, escort you to check-in and make sure all of your questions are answered.
Are you traveling with kids or pets? The Loews Atlanta hotel is pet-friendly and caters to all ages. They will treat your dog or cat with the same attentive care as they will treat you. Shortly after you check-in, a pet amenity will be brought to your room, which includes food, treats, water and more. As for kids, Loews has partnered with Fisher Price and Sony to provide a myriad of activities for kids aged toddlers to teens. They also have staff on hand to watch your kids in case you want an elegant night for just you and your spouse.
One great aspect of the hotel is how it is “uniquely local.” This means that all artwork in the hotel is from local artists and was created specifically for the hotel. Also, the restaurant features produce from local farmers, and is a “from farmer to table” set-up (isn’t it wonderful how a new establishment is supporting local businesses?). You can be assured you are getting some of the freshest ingredients from the area and that, while it will be Southern cuisine, it is not drenched in oil or butter. Instead, the restaurant will feature lighter styles of cooking. It will definitely be an extraordinary dining experience you won’t want to miss.
As for the guest rooms, they all feature floor to ceiling windows highlighting some of the most beautiful views of downtown Atlanta. They all have 300 thread count sheets, flat screen plasma TVs, mini bars, pillow top mattresses and everything else you would expect from a hotel of this caliber.
The Loews Atlanta hotel is also home to the largest fitness center/spa in Atlanta that will be open to the public. It also has the largest ballroom in Midtown, the Ellington, which features 11,000 square feet of space!
The features of this extraordinary addition to Midtown are endless, and words hardly describe the elegance and comfort of the hotel. I am so happy to be among the first to get a tour of the building, and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to check it out either. Whether treating yourself to a massage at the spa or fine cuisine at Jazzmans, be sure you make your way to Loews sometime this Spring or Summer to see it for yourself.
