		<description>One reason that the banks do not go after the homeowner for the shortage in a short sale is that many times the banks loss is covered by the Mortgage Insurance. In most cases, unless the homeowner put 20% down they are paying mortgage insurance included with their monthly payment. The ones really taking the hit right now are the mortgage insurance companies.</description>
