Walker Concrete: Henry Council for Quality Growth Member Spotlight
Henry Council for Quality Growth board member, Doug Walker of Walker Concrete, is one of the Council’s most valued members. Walker Concrete is the leading supplier of concrete products and related services in the south metro Atlanta area, with more than 150 trucks, 250 employees, and nine locations.
Walker’s father founded the company in 1953 with a pickup truck and two-bag mixer and no idea that it would turn into a $50 million company one day. Walker Concrete has an excellent track record for exceptional customer service, employee satisfaction and community involvement.
Walker has been president of Walker Concrete for 30 years. He is a regular donor to Clayton State University, Southwest Christian Hospice, Boy Scouts of America, Henry County YMCA, the Joseph Sams School in Fayetteville as well as several other schools around the south metro area and the Henry Council for Quality Growth. After Hurricane Katrina, Walker hosted a job fair for displaced hurricane victims.
