Variety of Home Designs Available to Atlanta New Home Buyers

Finding a new home in Atlanta can be daunting in large part to the amount of home designs and elevations that home buyers have to choose from. From ranch-style homes to craftsman-style homes the options are endless. Here is a short guide to three of Atlanta’s most popular single-family home designs:

  1. The Craftsman-style home originates from the “Arts and Crafts” movement. Some of the typical features of a Craftsman home is paired windows, built-ins, banquettes in kitchens, window seats in bedrooms, mud rooms, sloped roofs and defined rooms with openings supported by columns. Craftsman-style homes focus on the outdoors and nature with homes positioned to greet the sun, shady front porches and gardens. Brock Built offers several Craftsman-style homes throughout their metro Atlanta communities and many of these homes are EarthCraft certified.
  2. Lack of stairs and open floorplans make ranch-style homes ideal for active adults. With ranch homes less is more and exteriors of ranch-style homes typically exude a casual feel. The open flow of a ranch home makes them perfect for everyday life as well as entertaining. Jim Chapman Communities builds several communities featuring classic ranch-style homes that are specifically designed with the active adult in mind.
  3. As in the story of The Three Little Pigs, traditional brick homes are known for their reliability and durability. Brick homes are resistant to moisture, pests, fire and damage, and the color of brick is permanent. Atlanta-based home builder, Bowen Family Homes, offers new home buyers a variety of home designs including traditional brick homes.
