Too Hot Outside? Rockledge Residents are Invited to the Movies

independent Atlanta movie theaterAt 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, residents of Rockledge Apartments in Marietta are invited to a free viewing of Outdoor Adventure Club of the South. The movie tells the story of an Emory University student athlete who hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness.

The Rockledge summer movie series takes place in the beautiful apartment community’s 80-seat theater, which is located in the new 18,000-foot, glass and stone clubhouse. Residents also go there to enjoy a running track, basketball court, fitness center, yoga studio and party room with billiards. The party room is the place to pick up free popcorn and drinks beginning 30 minutes before each movie.

Two additional movies are planned for July. At 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, filmmaker Patrick Franklin will attend a showing of his Pushin’ up Daisies, a film combining two very different themes – flowers and zombies. The following week, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, filmmaker Anthony McHie will be on hand to answer questions about his three short films, Consequences of a Streaking Ray, Deadbeat and The Unstoppable Edwina Chambers.

If you’re looking for an apartment near I-75 and I-285 but you would rather spend your summer evenings outdoors, don’t despair. Rockledge Apartments also offers direct access to the Chattahoochee and the requisite walking and biking trails plus seven swimming pools, tennis courts, sand volleyball, playgrounds, outdoor fireplaces and gas grills.
