Tom Wichman Highlighted as Masterpiece Lighting’s Employee of the Month
To simply say that Tom Wichman is an industry veteran would truly be an understatement! Tom’s career in the lighting profession spans more than four decades during which he has designed lighting layouts for more than 400 custom homes in the south. He has taught lighting design at the college level, and served as an instructor to the lighting trade. It comes as no surprise that Tom is one of only seven lighting professionals in the state of Georgia who is certified by the American Lighting Association.
In his position at Masterpiece Lighting, Tom’s focus is on the residential market where he develops lighting plans for builders, remodelers, designers and homeowners. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Tom replied, “I really enjoy enhancing spaces with proper lighting and using techniques that make a room more inviting and comfortable. Lighting is going through a transition with LED’s leading the way. I believe that a big part of my job is staying up to date on trends and products, so that I can guide my customers in selecting the right products as well as offering solutions to ensure their homes are properly lit. Believe it or not, proper lighting can make a difference in how you feel about your living space, and Masterpiece Lighting has the resources to provide a variety of products to get the job done from a technical perspective and to match the personal style of the customer.”
Tom is passionate about his work, and he shared with us that not only is Masterpiece Lighting a fun place to work, but that they also have a dedicated team of professionals who collectively offer a depth of knowledge that is unmatched by any other lighting supplier in the market. Tom is also committed to providing his customers with outstanding service, which is a core philosophy at Masterpiece Lighting.
In his spare time, you will find Tom, an avid outdoorsman, and his wife, Seana, fly fishing in the north Georgia mountains. Tom and Seana are the very proud parents of two sons, Ty and Fred, and two grandsons, Trey and Alec, who are truly their pride and joy!
