The Sales Mind

Doug Trenary presented a thought provoking presentation to the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Sales and Marketing Council earlier this month.  He started off by suggesting that managers ask their team what the three most important goals of company are, and then spend some time creating a consolidated universal list.

He had several pointers for Atlanta Real Estate sales agents.

  • Controllables - have each team member write down a couple of things they need to improve business. Typically, almost everything on the list is uncontrollable. Control what you can control.  Forget the rest.
  • Value - each and everyday you should contribute as much value as possible. Call customers back, and ask how can you help?
  • Service - the issue isn’t customer service, it is customer loyalty. Have the guts to survey your clients.
  • Activity - more activity, take your business cards, talk to people in the community. Internally have contests. Keep mental activity strong. More sales meetings. High activity. More money means either higher dollar sales, more sales or more skills.

I hope some of these tips help you to sell more.  See additional stories on events, education and marketing at Atlanta Real Estate Forum.
