The Real Scoop on AJC Atlanta Real Estate Changes
A contact at the AJC sent Atlanta Real Estate Forum the following update on changes at the paper as they relate to Atlanta real estate, the Homefinder, Real Estate Saturday and new home builders and communities.
Real Estate Saturday zoned editions (Northside, Northwest, Southside, Northeast) will continue to be published. To increase brand consistency, the mast heads of the Saturday zoned real estate sections will be updated to match other products in the Homefinder family with a name change to AJC Homefinder Saturday. They will continue in their tabloid format.
The AJC will introduce an expanded and improved homes portfolio on Aug. 17. It will be a 3-section broadsheet package that addresses the buying and selling of homes as well as home decor and home improvement. The Homefinder section will be converted from its current tabloid format to broadsheet.
Joining Homefinder on Sunday will be the HomeStyle content, which will move from Thursday. Focus group testing has been very encouraging and because Homefinder is already printed on a color tower, the AJC does not have to wait for early ‘09 press enhancements to go ahead and make this move.
The section will be chaptered with Homestyle now being called ajchomes and it will be the first section. Homefinder will be renamed ajchomefinder and will be in two sections with the first being new homes and the second section (third chapter) will be resales, rentals and liner ads.
This sounds like extensive coverage for real estate and a smart branding move on the Saturday pub. We can’t wait to see it!
