The Georgia Club Foundation ends summer with fun for a good cause
The Georgia Club had an exciting, successful weekend! On Saturday, Aug. 2, The Georgia Club Foundation hosted its first Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Chancellors Course. There was a great turnout - 26 teams played nine holes of golf with one of the 13 local celebrities (many pictured below) including WSB radio’s Neal Boortz, WSB-TV’s David Chandley and Chuck Dowdle, UGA Athletic Director Damon Evans, UGA Women’s Golf Coach Kelly Hester and UGA Gym Dogs Coach Suzanne Yoculan.
The Foundation is happy to report that the tournament netted more than $12,000 and will make a contribution to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank. Fun for a good cause! And, a special congratulations to the “unofficial” celebrities, the tournament winners. The first place team includes Allen Powers, Ronnie Lee, Russell DeLong and Robert Rentfrow.
The Celebrity Golf Tournament was the perfect end to the summer, and now The Georgia Club Foundation is gearing up for its much anticipated annual Christmas Tour of Homes.
