That’s one way to sell a home…maybe

The Associated Press reports that homeowners JJ Rodgers and husband Wes Ludlow are sponsoring an essay contest to sell their second home in Colorado. It costs $100 to enter, and they’re hoping for 2,000 entries by the May 25 deadline. While AP reports say other owners of existing homes around the country are also devising wacky ways to sell homes, Atlanta new home builders seem to be sticking to the straightforward approach. Many are lowering prices as they seek to reduce standing inventory and prepare for changing market conditions (see Haven Properties’ Million Dollar Inventory Reduction or Monte Hewett Homes’ “It’s a BIG Deal.” ) The result for homebuyers? Standing inventory homes won’t last long, and neither will the good deals as the market evens out.
