Take a Tour Inside A Cobb County Green Home
Although the green movement has become more popular over the past few years, examples of the movement are few and far between. Sometimes it seems like the only way to see an example of a green home or a sustainable building is to watch Planet Green’s Worlds Greenest Homes. As great as the show is, the experience just isn’t the same as actually getting to BE there.
Enter Greenhaven, an eco-friendly home right in our back-yard! This US Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified home showcases the latest in green building techniques, sustainable design, state-of-the-art technology and energy efficiency. This home represents the coolest aspects of green building and Georgia residents are so unbelievably lucky to have the opportunity to tour this home.
Greenhaven is open to the public for tours through August 9th. The best part is, proceeds will benefit the Upper Chattahoochee River Keeper’s Fund. Not only do you get to enjoy this rare treat in Atlanta, the money you spend goes to maintaining Atlanta’s environment.
Part of the sustainable design featured at Greenhaven was donated by Construction Resources, an Atlanta based company that provides builders, homeowners, and remodelers with all of their kitchen and bathroom needs.
Construction Resources installed environmentally-friendly Cambria natural quartz countertops for the kitchen and baths in the Greenhaven home. Cambria is considered environmentally-friendly because it has a low carbon footprint due to the short distance is has to travel. Also, Cambria is GREENGUARD certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. Best of all, it is certified as NSF International safe for use as a food preparation surface. Without formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds or radon emissions, this countertop is safe for families and for the environment.
This house is a green building model for designers, builders, and homeowners. Do not miss this opportunity to check it out. Located in the Chelsea Landing subdivision, Greenhaven is definitely one of the ultimate green homes in Atlanta.
