Save the Date for the Monastra Foundation’s Fall Golf Tournament
Last year’s inaugural fall golf tournament set really high standards for the Joseph C. Monastra Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research as it raised $100,000 for the fight against pancreatic cancer. The organization is gearing up for another round against the silent killer when the supporters tee off at the Golf Club of Georgia on October 27, 2008, and is currently seeking sponsors. You may recognize Pamela Monastra and Tom Sharp in the picture. These two Atlanta real estate professionals work together on the board of the JCM Foundation to fight pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately both of these individuals have lost family members and close loved ones to the disease. In fact, that is how the Joseph C. Monastra Foundation was founded. Carol Flammer Quoted in the AJC
Did everyone see the feature in the Homefinder section of the AJC on May 4 about the “Terms of Frustration.” If not you should definitely check it out. Not only does it clear up a lot of misconceptions as to what a “gourmet kitchen” or “spa bath” is, but it also used Carol Flammer’s expertise in the industry to help define these fequently used marketing terms. Carol Flammer is the President and Founder of Flammer Relations, Inc. - a public relations and social media firm that specializes in real estate. She is also the creator of Atlanta’s favorite real estate blog. With decades of experience in the home building industry, it is no wonder that AJC reporter Lori Johnston asked Flammer for her opinion on this feature story. Flammer’s involvement with Atlanta real estate has given her great insight as to the misconception between builders and buyers with phrases like “oversized master suites” and “gourmet kitchens.” Apparently buyers have been disappointed with products that are described with such broad terms. So, if these phrases have been a source of frustration and confusion for you, (Continued…)

Register Now for ULI’s The Future of Brookhaven
Join ULI Atlanta on May 14 for an informal discussion on the future of the Brookhaven area. Prime metro-Atlanta location and increased development interest has created a need for thoughtful planning in Brookhaven. The discussion will address three main issues: the planning of the overall community, developing mixed-use within the community and the future opportunity for transit-oriented development. The event will begin at 6 pm and last until about 8:30 pm. Beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Best of all this event is moderated by my friend and fellow Atlanta real estate blogger Giles Stevens! Giles is actively involved in the real estate community as well as ULI Atlanta.
