The Thanksgiving season brings to mind thoughts of family, friends, great food and the beauty of autumn weather. At Soleil Laurel Canyon, residents cherish the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving together throughout the entire month of November. The sold-out annual Thanksgiving luncheon brought the community together to enjoy great food that was provided by fellow residents and to show thanks for neighbors, family and friends. However, resident camaraderie goes further than social events at Soleil Laurel Canyon. Members of the community can be found walking Soleil’s trails, playing tennis and using the various workout facilities year-round. Soleil as a community prides itself on the active lifestyle that residents lead both in and out of the community.
One of the great things about Soleil is its proximity to the beautiful city of Atlanta, which provides endless opportunities for residents to participate in activities outside of Canton. Avid and casual runners alike can enjoy running the Thanksgiving half marathon in Atlanta that has become one of the largest half marathons in the U.S. Thousands of runners and walkers gather each year to earn their Thanksgiving turkey by participating in the Atlanta Half Marathon. The Atlanta Track Club will be holding a clothing drive and donating articles of clothing to local homeless shelters, so join the charitable fun on November 28th at 7:30 a.m. at Turner Field!
Spots are still available for runners and walkers to register. If you are interested, you can register here. This marathon’s success is also dependent on volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, register here or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
