Today, Soleil Laurel Canyon is hosting a Lunch and Learn event for community residents with resident hosts, Pat and Bob Pugrant. This month’s topic is “Discovering Christmas and Hanukkah Traditions.” The guest speaker, Rabbi Ron Herstik, will guide residents in a discussion through the history, traditions and reasons as to why Christmas and Hanukkah are different, and valuable knowledge of the holiday celebrations will be shared.
Soleil Laurel Canyon is home to people with diverse cultures and backgrounds, which gives the Soleil community a unique identity. The holiday season is the perfect time to explore and delight in the range of different backgrounds that can be found throughout the community.
Rabbi Ron recently retired as the senior rabbi of Congregation Dor Tamid, which is located in Johns Creek. After 36 years as a rabbi, he looks forward to spending time with this dynamic Canton community just northwest of Atlanta. For more about Rabbi Ron, visit his website here.
