Sharp Residential Helps Fight Mitochondrial Disease

Tom Sharp, president of Sharp Residential, hopes to give back to those in need by continuing his support once again this year for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF). The annual concert, “Music for Megan and Mito Fest: Concert for a Cure” supports research and education about Mitochondrial disease. This disease can come in many forms, the most severe of which can be debilitating with loss of hearing, eyesight or the ability to walk or eat. Unfortunately, the majority of persons diagnosed with this rising disease are under the age of five.
This benefit concert, which is in its third year, is dedicated to Megan Sheridan who suffers from the disease. This concert raises several thousand dollars each year for UMDF and Sharp Residential is happy to help for the third straight year.
This year’s concert will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, Ga. and will feature live music by Banks & Shane. Music for Megan will also feature a silent auction, raffle prizes,a wide array of food and refreshments and activities for the kids including a climbing wall, inflatables, pony rides and much, much more!
Sharp Residential is hoping to lead by example and get many companies and individuals in the Atlanta real estate industry involved with this fantastic cause. Please come out to support UMDF & little Megan. You can buy tickets and learn more about this disease at UMDF’s website and to learn more about Megan’s story, please visit Megan’s Hope.
