Seville Presents at West Coast Green Conference

Carl Seville, owner, Seville Consulting of Decatur, will make two presentations at West Coast Green in San Francisco on September 21. As the largest residential building conference and expo in the country, the three day event provides green building resources, exhibits and training for business development in the residential green building field. Seville, a National Association of Home Builders-certified trainer, will present a session designed to help contractors better manage the trade contractors who do so much of the work on their projects. Entitled “Training Your Trade Contractor: Effective Performance-Based Management Systems,” the seminar offers examples of management systems along with guidelines for creating them for the attendee’s own business. “Effective management of trade contractors ensures higher performance, minimizes rework and reduces warranty and callbacks,” said Seville.

In a later session, Seville will moderate a panel of other leading professionals to provide their views of the current state of green remodeling and a vision of the industry’s future. In a session entitled “Remodel It Green,” the panel of five will present an overview of the house as a system concept, methods to incorporate these techniques into a remodeling business, and an introduction to carbon-neutral remodeling, The goal of Seville Consulting is to help homeowners and building professionals create healthy, efficient, and durable buildings by incorporating sustainable practices into their homes and businesses. Seville is recipient of the 2005 and 2007 Green Building Advocate of the Year and the 2004 and 2006 National Green Building Awards for Residential Remodeling from the National Association of Home Builders.

Over the years Seville has earned five Excellence in Design Awards from Environmental Design and Construction Magazine, the Southface Energy Institute Award of Excellence for Environmental Stewardship, and the 2006 EarthCraft House Leadership Award.
