Seville Honored as Green Building Remodeler Advocate of Year

Carl Seville of Seville Consulting is among 14 members of the National Association of Home Builders who were honored for exemplary green building practices during the 9th annual NAHB National Green Building Conference, held recently in St. Louis. Seville was named Remodeler Advocate of the Year, marking the fourth consecutive year that he has received an award at a NAHB National Green Building Conference.

Last year, he earned the Remodeled Home of the Year award. Prior to founding Seville Consulting when he was still with SawHorse Inc., he received the 2005 Remodeler Advocate of the Year award, and in 2004, one of his SawHorse projects won the Remodeled Home of the Year accolade. “Carl’s efforts have been tireless on behalf of our industry,” said NAHB Green Building subcommittee chair Ray Tonjes. “I believe green remodeling is the next great challenge we face, and his educational leadership has been — and will continue to be — invaluable.”

Seville, who lives and has his office in Decatur, was the founder and served as vice president of SawHorse Inc., an Atlanta design/build firm, for 25 years. He now operates Seville Consulting, a company with the goal of helping homeowners and building professionals create healthy, efficient, and durable buildings by incorporating sustainable practices into their homes and businesses (www.sevilleconsulting.com).
