Rockledge’s Chattahoochee Clean Up Makes the Front Page

rockledge-chatahoocheeriverLast Sunday, June 14th, Rockledge apartments hosted a Chattahoochee Beautification Day with the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. You should be familiar with the event as we did promote it on Atlanta Real Estate Forum, encouraging all of you to get out and volunteer and learn more about how to keep the Chattahoochee River for future generations. Well, now we want so say thank you. We had a tremendous turn out full of exceptional volunteers, and we were ecstatic to see so many Atlanta locals taking action to keep our water supply clean.

The event was such a success that we made the front page of the Marietta Daily Journal on Monday! And, even better, the MDJ was not the only local media covering the event, we also had CBS reporting on the day’s festivities.

When all was said and done, we had about 60 volunteers spend Sunday afternoon picking up trash by the river near Interstate North Parkway and I-285. Most of these volunteers were residents of the luxury Marietta apartments. We also closed off old trails that have been shut down by the National Park Service. And while we were feasting on lunch provided by local restaurants, the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper showed a video that described the threats currently facing the river and what we can do to help preserve our water source.

Thank you so much Atlanta for coming out and making the event such a success. Be sure to check out our article from the Marietta Daily Journal.
