Residents Extremely Happy with Green Built Atlanta Condos

Oakland Park is a rather extraordinary new condo development in Atlanta. Being the first LEED certified multi-family housing project in Atlanta and having an amazing intown location, these green built Atlanta condos are attracting homeowners for a myriad of different reasons. One particular couple is so happy with their new home at Oakland Park that they wanted to share their experience with other new home shoppers in Atlanta.

Stephen and Yolanda Upkins decided that they wanted to buy a second home. As primary residents of Henry County, they knew that they wanted to buy a condominium in downtown Atlanta. The Upkins looked at Oakland Park for more than a year before they bought their eco-friendly condominium there. After many months of looking and debating, it seemed that there was not another new home in Atlanta that could compare with Oakland Park in regards to the great location, breathtaking skyline views and state-of-the-art green features. Oakland Park was their perfect Atlanta getaway.

“Oakland Park has everything we were looking for in a second home,” said Stephen. “The extra perks such as the fitness center, Stella Neighborhood Trattoria on the bottom floor and the skyline views really make Oakland Park the perfect getaway for us.”

The Upkins one bedroom/one bathroom condominium consists of countless contemporary interior features including bamboo flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to let in plenty of natural light and fresh air and offer unbelievable views of the Atlanta skyline. Although not originally a must-have for the Upkins, they enjoy several of the green features that Oakland Park offers residents including the dual flush toilets, water saving sinks and showers, cement ceilings and the community recycling program. Oakland Park’s environmentally-friendly features turned into a big selling point for the Upkins and had a lot to do with their final decision.

“We have really enjoyed getting to know this historic neighborhood and have had an amazing time trying new restaurants in our new neighborhood,” said Stephen. “This entire process has been easy thanks to the staff at Oakland Park.”

Fine dining for every meal can be found less than one mile from these new Atlanta condos. Residents enjoy close proximity to award-winning restaurants such as Ria’s Bluebird, Agave, Redfish, Carrol Street Café, Six Feet Under and many more. Other nearby Atlanta attractions include Zoo Atlanta, the Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum, and The King Center. Outdoor activities including sports, picnics and walks can be enjoyed at nearby Grant Park, which consist of 131-acres of green space. Historic Oakland Cemetery also offers unique opportunities with several events offered throughout the year.
