Parents Urged To Sign Up Kids Now For Georgia Pre-K

peachBefore buying a home, there are more considerations to make than you can even imagine.  First there is whether it is meeting the basic needs your family has, like the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and then there are the more particular design issues, like whether you want granite countertops or trey ceilings.  Of course these decisions usually come second to the location of the house, which is the number one deciding factor.  People want to be close to work and recreation, but the most important thing to many home buyers is the school district. Luckily, metro Atlanta is home to some of the best schools in the entire state, and many of them also rank high nationally. However, while a great high school is important, a good education begins at Pre-K.

Georgia’s Pre-K program, which is funded by the Georgia Lottery for Education, has served more than one million children since its creation in 1993.  Today, there are more than 76,000 Pre-K slots statewide, and unfortunately this is only about half of the number of children in Georgia eligible for the service. With so many students vying for the limited spots, it is important to register your child early. Considering Georgia has one of the best programs in the nation, slots will fill up quickly. Registration for Georgia’s Pre-K child care program began February 1, and if you want to guarantee your child a spot, go ahead and register today.

Take the time to find your preferred provider, and then register your child with the program ASAP. As long as your child will be four years old by September 1, 2010, he or she is eligible for the Georgia Pre-K program.
