Project Playhouse Moves to Lenox Square

Lenox Square will host HomeAid Atlanta’s annual signature fundraiser, Project Playhouse™ this fall. The fifth annual opening of this highly successful event will be on Sept. 13 at the Playhouse Village located in valet parking at Lenox Square. The Playhouse Village will remain open to the public for tours on weekends through Oct. 4.

“Lenox Square is proud to be able to contribute to HomeAid Atlanta by being the new home to Project Playhouse,” said Dewayne Herbert, area director of mall marketing, Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.  “We are excited to be a part of the tradition, and at the same time, we are thankful for the opportunity to create new experiences for our shoppers.”

Project Playhouse™ 2008 will showcase four extraordinary playhouses designed and built by some of Atlanta’s premier architects and home builders. These child-size dream homes will be fully furnished by professional interior designers and exhibit the utmost quality craftsmanship. In each playhouse, local home builders will combine the wonder of childhood imagination with many of today’s modern amenities, such as flat screen TVs, granite countertops, hardwood floors and surround sound. The fundraiser will culminate with an Awards and Auction Party on Oct. 4 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, featuring the raffle of one playhouse and the live auction of three playhouses.

Funds raised through Project Playhouse™, including ticket sales, raffle and auction proceeds, benefit HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that builds transitional housing for temporarily homeless families and individuals throughout metro Atlanta.

“We are thrilled with the move of Project Playhouse™ to Lenox Square this year,” says Ann Carey, executive director of HomeAid Atlanta. “While the event was consistently successful at Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett County in the past, Lenox Square is more centralized within the city, allowing greater accessibility for more families throughout the metro Atlanta area. We are hopeful that this year’s event will be our most successful yet, allowing us to continue giving more temporarily homeless children, women and men a second chance to get back on their feet and regain self-sufficient lives.”
