Project Playhouse 2009 Grand Opening is Next Saturday

tratonThere is one thing that most every family in metro Atlanta looks for on the weekends – cheap (or free) things to do with the kids. Especially considering the state of the economy, there is hardly anything better than a free family-fun event. That’s why you can’t afford to miss the Grand Opening of the Project Playhouse Village next Saturday, September 19th.

The grand opening celebration for this highly-anticipated event begins at 11 AM with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a variety of kid-friendly fun, including complimentary face painting, balloon art and a live Radio Disney broadcast. Admission is free, and guests will be among the first to see the three extraordinary child-size dream homes on display. In addition, the first 100 children to visit the Playhouse Village on opening day will receive a goody bag filled with items donated by local businesses.

This year’s Project Playhouse features three extraordinary playhouses, all of which will be raffled off to lucky winners this year:

  • Camp Tranquility – a cozy mountain lodge builty by Dan Dejiacomo Custom Homes
  • Captain’s Quarters – a charming nautical cottage built by Traton Homes
  • Tech Tower – a replica of the Georgia Tech landmark, which was designed and built by a group of students from the Ga Tech college of Architecture in partnership with Dovetail Homes

camptranquility_smYou can purchase raffle tickets to win one of these amazing playhouses at the Grand Opening event. 1ticket is $3, 2 tickets are $5, 4 tickets are $10, 10 tickets are $20 and 30 tickets are $50. Remember, the more raffle tickets you buy, the greater your chances of winning. All proceeds from raffle ticket sales goes to helping HomeAid Atlanta fulfill its mission of providing transitional housing for Atlanta’s homeless population.

The raffle drawing for each playhouse will take place on October 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Playhouse Village. You don’t have to visit the village to buy raffle tickets, you can also get them online, by phone or at the Avenue Forsyth’s management office. And, if you can’t make it to tour the playhouses next Saturday, the village will be open on the weekends from Sept 19 – Oct 10.
