Project Playhouse 2007 A Huge Success
HomeAid Atlanta is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 4th annual signature fundraiser, Project Playhouse, presented this year by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage CARES Foundation. Project Playhouse displays several custom crafted, fully furnished, child-size showcase homes for seven weeks so that onlookers can peruse and evaluate each home, contemplating which is their favorite.
Once the seven weeks are over, HomeAid Atlanta and the supporting sponsors host the Awards and Auction party, marking the culmination of the fundraiser. This year’s charming, one-of-a-kind playhouses were built by BLW Home Group, Capo Custom Homes, Country Classic Builders, Dovetail Homes, Grew Hawk Builders, Ryland Homes and Whitestone Custom Homes.
The Awards and Auction Party was held at the elegant Atlanta Athletic Club on October 20, where the winner of the extraordinary raffle, a raffle in which over 7,000 tickets were sold in order to with the Braves Clubhouse, was announced followed by the live auctioning of the other six remarkable playhouses. In addition to the live auction, the Awards and Auction Party also features a silent auction, which this year had items such as beach vacations, golf packages and a Tiffany bracelet.
More than $205,000 was raised through the total combined sales of raffle tickets, auction party tickets, auctioned playhouses, silent auction items and sponsorship. All funds raised benefit HomeAid Atlanta, which is a local organiztion whose mission is developing transitional housing facilities for temporarily homeless children, women and men in the community. Thank you to all of those that helped make this event such a success!
