Ponce City Market: A Revitalizing Repurpose in Downtown Atlanta
The Ponce City Market, developed by Jamestown Properties, will incorporate city living with great shopping, dining and recreation all within the same community. The repurposed Sears, Roebuck & Company building will offer 330,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 475,000 square feet of office space and 259 residential flats, which makes Ponce City Market Atlanta’s largest adaptive reuse project. Ponce City Market is expected to have 12 to 15 restaurants and 25 to 30 vendors located throughout the building, even on the rooftop!
Ponce City Market has prime access to area parks and the Atlanta BeltLine, and it is located only two miles from Georgia Tech, Emory, Georgia State and Savannah College of Art and Design. Ponce City Market will have a CentraFood Hall, which will include a variety of local restaurants, specialty foods, a gourmet market and prepared foods. Dancing Goats Coffee Bar, H&F Burger, Honeysuckle Gelato and more will soon call the Central Food Hall home.
While the old Sears, Roebuck & Company building will keep its charm, many changes have been made in order to pursue a LEED Core and Shell Silver certification. The building now has water efficient features, including water-reuse systems, along with LED lighting and energy efficient HVAC systems. Each residential flat offers low VOC finishes, low-flow water fixtures and on-site recycling. Additionally, throughout the course of restoring Ponce City Market, more than 84 million pounds of material was recycled.
Residential space available at Ponce City Market includes studio flats to three bedroom flats that range from approximately 630 to more than 1,800 square feet. In order to mix a modern flair with the building’s historical charm, the residential flats consist of the original steel-framed windows, exposed brick walls, European-style kitchens and stained concrete floors. These flats are now leasing, and more will become available as the project is completed.
While only some of the residential flats and restaurants are open now, Ponce City Market will be opening more flats, restaurants, retail stores and office space as they are completed. For more information about Ponce City Market, visit www.poncecitymarket.com.Contact Us
