Peachtree Hills Place offers More than Just a New Home

Moving to Peachtree Hills Place in the heart of Buckhead is not just about buying a new home in Buckhead. The residential community offers a continuum of care that alleviates a myriad of stress for its residents.

The list of freedoms Peachtree Hills affords is lengthy. It begins with the freedom from worrying about house and yard maintenance and ends with the assurance that, whatever the future brings, buyers will be able to age gracefully in place.

“The real benefit, aside from all our services, is the access to care as needs change,” said Kevin Isakson, director of sales and marketing for Isakson Living, the community’s developers. “There’s a peace of mind knowing that if something happens tomorrow, you can bring assistance into your current home or you can move to assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing centers, if need be.”

So far, buyers at Peachtree Hills are independent adults, age 55 or older, many of whom have significant ties to the Buckhead community, said Isakson.

“By moving to Peachtree Hills Place, they’re not changing their lifestyles,” he said. “Most are staying close to their friends, their church, the doctors they see. They can come here assured that it will not change. They’ll continue to stay connected to the people they want to be with. And, as opposed to downsizing to a condo, people can move here and not move again.”

When completed in 2011, the project’s 274 flats and Craftsman bungalows will anchor 23 landscaped acres with walking trails and greenspaces. There will also be a clubhouse, a small market, four restaurants created by noted local chef Paul Albrecht, a full-service fitness center and a spa. A wellness center will have a full-time physician; the skilled nursing center will have Medicare-certified services. And instead of a gated entrance, the property will connect to the surrounding neighborhood.

“We didn’t want to be exclusive; we’re inclusive,” said Isakson. “Our market and café will be open to the public. It’s a great way to incorporate ourselves into the existing neighborhood.”

Another major draw for buyers is the fee structure. At Peachtree Hills Place, residents pay an up-front entrance fee, akin to an equity stake, and if they move or pass away, 90 percent of their principal investment is returned.

“It’s an attractive concept for people who like that they can preserve a portion of their estate for their heirs,” said Isakson. “Meanwhile, they have all the benefits of home ownership without the hardships. We will refurbish the residence and resell it for you – folks don’t want to leave that hassle to their kids. And they don’t want to worry about ongoing expenses when they’re gone.”

The stress-free lifestyle covering aspects from house cleaning to inheritance is what sets Peachtree Hills Place apart from other communities, said Isakson.

“There’s no stress worrying about the yard work or future healthcare needs,” he said. “At the same time, our residents don’t want to be a burden to their kids and don’t want their needs to impact them. Here, they can maintain control while still enjoying the social engagement of the community.”
