Park Springs Members Meet the Falcons
As a prime example of the fun activities Park Springs Members get to take advantage of, seven football players and two cheerleaders from the Atlanta Falcons team were welcomed for a day of fun on October 6 at the retirement community. Players included Jerious Nerwood, Jonathan Babineaux, Thomas DeCoud, Brian Finneran, Verron Haynes, Coy Wire and Kroy Biermann.
The day took on a competitive edge with games of Wii Bowling and sports trivia. Some players also joined members at the Park Springs’ health care center for some light exercising. And of course there was plenty of autograph signing. Every Member had a chance to get signed autographs, get photos taken with and personally meet each one of the players. The autographs and photos are sure to be a hit with the grandchildren!
The Falcons players visited Park Springs as part of their “Hometown Huddle” program which sends players out to various locations throughout the community. The Falcons are the only NFL team that involves all 53 of their members each day they do the program. Other team members visited various spots including Home Depot, Publix and the Georgia Aquarium.
Park Springs is a continuing care retirement community located in Stone Mountain. Events such as these are what make this community truly unique. Programs are scheduled regulary and many of the Members love to get involved. Aside from the wonderful activities going on this community offers extensive amenities, assisted living and onsite nurses.
