Park Springs Members donate over $200K to staff

Park Springs Continuing Care Retirement CommunityDue to a no tip clause for employees that was put in place when Park Springs was formed just over five years ago, Members of the continuing care retirement community had to quickly find a way to adequately show their appreciation for staff members who displayed hard work and dedication throughout the course of the year.

Enter the Employee Appreciation Fund. The fund came into being shortly after the community opened in 2005. This year Members donated a whopping $203,000 with each hourly employee getting a check based on their longevity and salary. This year, the average payout was $685.81 per employee, while the maximum payout was $1,260. What a nice treat with the holiday’s right around the corner.

Throughout the course of the year, Park Springs Members held numerous community fundraisers to raise money for the Employee Appreciation Fund. The rest of the money came through individual monetary donations.

In addition to the employee’s monetary “thank you”, Members also held an Employee Appreciation luncheon for staff this year as well. Numerous Members brought homemade dishes to the event showing the true spirit that exists at Park Springs.
