Who Will Win an Oscar?

The Oscars are Sunday night and we will all be tuned in to see who wins. Much like these awards honor actors and actresses on the silver screen, the Atlanta home building community has the OBIE awards to honor new home builders and remodelers. The 2010 Intent to Enter packet is now available, so if you have an award-winning Atlanta new home community, 50+ community or remodeling project, it is time to enter. You can enter your Atlanta real estate project through April 30.

The OBIE Awards are named for the obelisk shape of the award. The OBIEs recognize outstanding achievement in new home building, marketing, remodeling and personal achievement categories. The Sales and Marketing Council of the HBA presents the annual OBIE Awards each November.

The OBIE Awards Committee is excited to announce the following changes for 2010:

• price discount for multiple entries
• new categories
• promotion of winners to home buyers/consumers through TV, print, online and intra-industry media

Important OBIE Dates:

• April 16—Intent to Enter Workshop, 10 a.m.-noon
• April 30—Intent to Enter Deadline
• June 10—Q and A Workshop, 10 a.m.-noon
• June 18—Entry Materials and Photography Deadline
• Aug. 13-14—On-Site Judging
• Aug. 13—Personal Achievement Interviews
• Aug. 13—Meet the Judges Party, 6 p.m.
• Nov. 13—Awards Ceremony
• Jan. 28, 2011—Deadline to Claim 2010 Entry Materials
