Nonprofit Seeking PR Communications Coordinator
HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the creation of housing for the temporarily homeless through the donation of construction services, seeks a Communications Coordinator to develop and implement a public relations/communications program.
Job responsibilities:
- Developing/producing PR materials (writing, editing, photography, graphics) including newsletters, Web site, scripts, PSAs, annual report and fundraising/promotional materials
- Conducting media relations including press releases, and other media materials
- Serving as a liaison for communications
- Coordinating PR events such as groundbreakings and dedication ceremonies
- Conducting media tours for projects and events
Requirements:
- strong writing, graphic, editing and interpersonal skills are essential
- superior organizational skills with the ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- productive experience in a community service program with oversight of volunteers/committees
- proficiency in Quark and Microsoft Office programs including Excel and PowerPoint
- A passion to help the homeless and promote the home building industry is necessary
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
