Nominate Your Peers for the 2009 Cenker Award

logoIs there someone that you think has just been an exceptional presence in the Atlanta home building industry this past year? Have they gone out of their way for non-profit organizations while also growing their business? Have they experienced success despite the down market and proven themselves as an industry leader? If so, then they would be an ideal candidate for the Lewis Cenker Award, the Builder of the Year Award or the Associate of the Year award.

Nominations are currently being accepted for these three awards, which are given to members of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association for outstanding contributions to the housing industry and the HBA. Of course, in order to be considered for one of these honors, the member has to be nominated for it.

The Lewis Cenker Award is the highest honor given by the HBA to an individual who has made a life long contribution to the advancement of the home building industry in the greater Atlanta region. The award is named after Lewis Cenker, who was President of the National Association of Home Builders in 1974 and is the only Atlantan to have held this office.

The Builder of the Year Award recognizes an Atlanta home builder for professional excellence; involvement in the association, government affairs and the community; along with his/her participation in specialized building programs, education and other affiliations. The nominee must be a Certified Professional Home Builder.

The Associate of the Year Award is similar to the Builder of the Year, except it honors an Associate who is recognized for professional excellence; involvement in the association and the community; participation in education and other affiliations.

The nomination forms are due September 18th and can be found on the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association Web site.
