Nature Trails: A Fun Way to Learn and Enjoy Fall Weather

hbtrailmarkeroak.jpgSchool is back in session and that means cooler weather, homework and the excitement of learning new things. Why not continue that learning at home this weekend with your family? Nature trails are a great way to get outside and learn about plants and animals in a hands-on manner. Residents of Heron Bay Golf & Country Club have a great system of trials that are perfect for families looking to learn, or adults looking to get some exercise in a relaxing environment. The trails are named after plants that can be found on them including hbtrailmarkerhemlock.jpgWhite Oak, Buckeye, Fern, Azalea and Hemlock. All trails have markers that point you in the right direction and list the distance and difficulty of each trail in order to ensure that you are taking one that is safe and age appropriate for your children. They also have markers that educate hikers about the plants and animals on the trail. Many families have reported seeing deer, wild turkeys, beavers, raccoons and other creatures wondering the natural beauty that surrounds Heron Bay and the surrounding Henry County. So whether you are a resident in Heron Bay’s master-planned golf community or somewhere else in the metro Atlanta area, find a nature trail to take your family to this weekend and start enjoying learning- and the cooler fall weather!
