The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council swore in its 2014 Chair, Carol Morgan, at last week’s International Builders Show in Las Vegas.
Morgan, a managing partner of mRELEVANCE, will manage the PWB Council’s business and represent the interests of the council members through NAHB. She has already begun working towards the goals she hopes to accomplish this year: building a broader base of leadership, raising money for BUILD-PAC, increasing council membership, increasing the number of PWB Councils at the local level and achieving full integration of PWB into NAHB. Morgan has already reached one of her goals, as the PWB was officially integrated into NAHB during the International Builders Show.
“PWB makes a difference in our industry, and I am honored to be a part of the leadership of this group,” says Morgan. “I look forward to serving the members of this organization, and I am excited to work with this incredible group of women to address the issues impacting women in the industry, as well as to grow the organization nationwide and further expand our reach.”
Morgan has been involved with the PWB at the national level for several years, and she has served in a number of positions within the council. She was the vice chair in 2013, Region B trustee in 2011 and 2013 and the communications chair in 2010 and 2011. Morgan was instrumental at the local level as well, as she founded the local Atlanta chapter of PWB, which now boasts the title of the largest local council in the nation.
As a long-time member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA), Morgan adds, “It was fitting that David Ellis, an executive officer of the GAHBA, performed the ceremony to induct me. David and I have worked together often throughout the years, and he has always been there to support me on my adventures.”
The NAHB Professional Women in Building Council is the voice of women in the building industry, and it is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting members at the local, state and national levels through networking and educational opportunities, legislative awareness and outreach, and professional and personal development.
With more than 20 years of public relations experience, Morgan is the author of top-selling BuilderBooks “Social Media 3.0,” the founder of the nationally-ranked and award-winning AtlantaRealEstateForum.com and the managing partner of Marketing RELEVANCE, a marketing, communication and interactive agency with offices in Atlanta and Chicago.
