Safety is always something to consider when looking for a new home, and it turns out that several metro Atlanta cities have it! SafeWise recently released its 2014 list of 50 Safest Cities in Georgia, which is based off of crime reports from 2012. The small town of Auburn, Ga. took the number one spot, but plenty of metro Atlanta cities can be found throughout the list. Here’s a quick look at some of them:
#2. Johns Creek- No reported murders or arson in this city during 2012 make Johns Creek one of Georgia’s safest places to live. More than 80,000 residents get to call this city, which offers a perfect blend of city life and suburb life, home. It’s also one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States.
#5. Peachtree City- With 35,000 residents, Peachtree City reported only six robberies and seven aggravated assaults in 2012. The low crime rate makes enjoying all of the outdoor activities Peachtree City has to offer even better.
#10. Kennesaw- Home to Kennesaw State, one of Georgia’s largest universities, the city of Kennesaw boasts a low crime rate and plenty of recreational parks to encourage residents’ physical, social and mental wellbeing. Children residing in Kennesaw also attend highly-acclaimed Cobb County schools.
#13. Roswell- A population of 92,000 may seem shocking once you read that only one murder and three aggravated assaults were reported in 2012. Roswell offers wonderful educational opportunities for children as well as a strong sense of community.
#19. Suwanee- Residents of Suwanee can feel at ease knowing that the Suwanee Police Department received national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. In 2012, only seven robberies were reported. Suwanee is also ranked one of the top urban school districts in the U.S.
