Master Planned Community Encourages Outdoor Living
Yes it may be a little weird to be discussing outdoor living while the temperature outside is in the 30’s, but when purchasing a new Atlanta home, it is imperative that you choose a new home that complements your lifestyle. Plus, Atlanta’s winters don’t seem to be extremely harsh and are generally short so living in a community that offers many outdoor recreational outlets is a smart choice for the South. This being said, Heron Bay Golf & Country Club, which is a master planned community in Henry County, promotes outdoor living with a variety of options.
As the name suggests, the community does feature a golf course. The 18-hole Cannongate course is the perfect course to improve and master the sport. It’s also a great way to spend a day outside. However, if golf doesn’t interest you, try one of the many nature trails throughout the community. Heron Bay has an extensive trail system with over 10 miles of natural path throughout the community. Many of these trails border the Cole Reservoir, offering beautiful natural views and an array of wildlife. For those not interested in taking a nature hike, try challenging a friend to a game of tennis. In addition to the tennis courts, the community has a sports field ideal for any kind of game: football, soccer, dodgeball, baseball, etc. And of course for the extremely sweltering days during the summer, Heron Bay has a full aquatic center with junior Olympic pool, waterslides, water lounge areas, shallow beach-entry pool and mushroom fountains.
Needless to say, Heron Bay Golf & Country club is a great community for families. The atmosphere and activities give you plenty of options for family time. Plus the community events create a sense of community between neighbors. With so much to offer, you may think these new homes in Locust Grove are ridiculously priced, but the truth is that homes at Heron Bay range from the $180’s to over $1 million – meaning there is something for everyone.
