Livable Communities Discussion to Focus on Housing Options for Georgia’s Older Adults

Kevin Isakson, Director of Marketing for Isakson-Barnhart will participate as a panel speaker at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies conference on Georgia’s Aging Population: What to Expect and How to Cope, a conference for leading policy officials who must plan for tomorrow’s needs today. Isakson-Barnhart are the developers of Atlanta’s luxury communities offering a continuum of care for those ages 62 and older.

The Livable Communities panel discussion will focus on the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies’ report Housing the Aging Baby Boomer Generation: Implications for Georgia Communities or It’s Too Late to Run…They’re Here! Isakson and other panel members will share their reaction to points in the report, lessons learned from their experiences and other thoughts/insight pertaining to housing options, retirement communities and proactive planning by local communities for Georgia’s aging population.

The session will start with a 10 minute overview of the report, followed by three 10-minute presentations by the panelists.

Isakson’s discussion will specifically mention Isakson-Barnhart’s Peachtree Hills Place project and its demands, challenges, appeal, features and benefits.

The conference is Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Livable Communities panel discussion will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the State Ballroom of the Georgia State University Student Center.
