Killearn Development Receives Quality Growth Council Award
Killearn Development, Inc., the developer of the Eagle’s Landing and Eagle’s Brooke master planned communities in Henry County, was the recipient of the Henry Council for Quality Growth’s 2006 Patrick Henry Award.
Steve Cash, executive director of the Henry Council for Quality Growth (HCQG), said the Patrick Henry Award is presented each year “to that person or entity that has over the years exhibited extraordinary vision, foresight and leadership which has resulted in the enhancement of the quality of life for the community. “It is a person or entity that has donated time, effort, and many resources to numerous causes both public and non-profit,” explained Cash. “I call this type of person or entity a civic hero, and who better for Henry County than Killearn Development, Inc., J. T. Williams and his family? They are most deserving.”
The presentation was made at HCQG’s 2006 GALA event, held recently at Eagle’s Landing Country Club. The festivities had a “70s” theme and featured period music from the “Headliners”. A percentage of the proceeds received from the council’s annual GALA was contributed to The Haven House, this year’s chosen charitable recipient.
