Kairos Development Donates $100,000 Toward Train Quieting Campaign in Vinings

kairos-train-photo-014.jpgKairos Development Corporation recently contributed $100,000 toward the $750,000 goal for the campaign to silence the train whistle in Vinings. Pictured are Bob Head, President of the Vinings Community Quiet Fund, Inc.; Amy Johnson, Kairos Development Corporation Finance and Technology Director; and Art Rountree, Kairos Development Corporation Operations Director celebrating the donation in style with train conductor hats and whistles!

The Federal Railroad Administration has established railroad Quiet Zones where trains can pass silently through crossings. In order to qualify for a Quiet Zone status, a four-quadrant gate system must be installed in place of the current two-quadrant system. Upon achievement of the $750,000 needed for this system, the Vinings community will be the first Quiet Zone established in Georgia under these new laws. The installation is estimated to be completed by December 2007.
