Homeowners Enjoy Beautiful Views at Lakeview at Heron Bay

Atlanta custom home in Heron BayPam and Mike Copeland were so enthralled with Heron Bay Golf and Country Club that they made a down payment on a lot and waited 18 months for Lakeview at Heron Bay to be developed so they could build a home.

The couple had lived in the Lake Spivey community for 26 years and wanted to build a new home but remain in the Southern Crescent area. They were riding around Henry County when they saw Heron Bay Golf and Country Club and were impressed by the resort-style amenities and the look of the community.

“We rode in a four-wheel drive vehicle out to this area which wasn’t developed yet. When we saw the views of the reservoir and the golf course, we knew that was where we wanted to live and we were willing to wait for our lot to be ready,” Pam Copeland said.

The Copelands love their new home and the Atlanta lake community. When their grandchildren visit, they enjoy taking them to playground and the Aquatic Center to play in the splash pool with dual slides and the zero-entry pool with nine water mushrooms.

They enjoy playing golf at the Canongate Golf Course and strolling along the community’s miles of walking and nature trails.

The couple often walks over to the Lakeview Park to watch the sunset with their neighbors.

“We can see the sunset every night from our lot but we enjoy getting together with the neighbors at the pavilion. There are swings and an outdoor fireplace that we can use in winter. There are lots of great gatherings there,” she said.

Located on the shores of the 1,100-acre Cole Reservoir, Heron Bay Golf and Country Club offers a wide variety of housing types from cottages on small lots designed for active adults to custom homes with golf course and lake views and prices ranging from the high $100,000s to more than $1 million.

In addition to the 18-hole, par 72 Canongate Golf Club with driving range and grill, the community has an amenity package that includes an Aquatic Center with three swimming pools, a tennis center with lighted courts and a viewing stand, a 5,000 square foot Community Lodge with a fitness center, a lakefront park with a picnic pavilion, miles of sidewalks and walking trails and neighborhood pocket parks. The Community Association’s Social Committee plans a variety of activities for residents throughout the year.

Lakeview at Heron Bay feature a diverse selection of home sites with golf, reservoir and nature views, ranging in size from one-half to one-and-a-half acres. Homes in the community start in the $400,000s.

When completed, Heron Bay Golf and Country Club will include 2,200 homes along with Town Center, a retail, office and medical complex.
