HomeAid Atlanta’s 2nd Annual Angel Tree

HomeAid AtlantaFor the second year HomeAid Atlanta will be hosting an Angel Tree to help  families in the metro-Atlanta community during the holiday season. This year HomeAid Atlanta will be sponsoring families participating in  Decatur Cooperative Ministry’s Family Transitional Housing Program.

The Family Transitional Housing Program uses single-family houses and apartments throughout DeKalb County to help families move from homelessness back to self-sufficiency. While participating in the program, families receive housing, utilities, case management, non-clinical counseling, financial management classes, a savings plan, computer training opportunities and referral to other services, such as free child care, legal assistance and health care. The program is designed to get the families back on their feet and self-reliant in anywhere from 6 to 24 months depending on need and circumstance.

For the past several years, HomeAid Atlanta has provided the Decatur Cooperative Ministry with housing construction assistance. This year, the program has decided to further help the Family Transitional Housing Program by hosting an Angel Tree.

To help support the HomeAid Atlanta initiative and give back to these families who would normally go without this holiday season, stop by The Housing Center at 1484 Brockett Road in Tucker and select an angel from the tree. You can also have the list of angels e-mailed to you by contacting HomeAid Atlanta at homeaid@atlantahomebuilders.com.

All gifts should be turned into The Housing Center by December 15 in order to make it to the families by Christmas morning.
