HomeAid Atlanta Partners with Atlanta Mission for Kitchen Renovation

Fuqua HallHomeAid Atlanta is delighted to announce that they have partnered with Atlanta Mission’s Fuqua Hall to renovate the kitchen at their home. Fuqua Hall offers affordable, transitional housing for men who have completed Atlanta Mission Shelter or Recovery Programs.

HomeAid Atlanta was made aware of this opportunity after being contacted by Atlanta Mission. This is the second project the two organizations have worked together on. The first was the construction of the Second Mile Home in College Park back in 2004.

The kitchen at Fuqua Hall was in desperate need of renovation with many items in disrepair and not enough equipment for the men to cook their own meals or for the group to host cooking classes. The kitchen, which is scheduled for completion in mid-January, will feature new flooring, cabinets, Fuqua Hallcountertops, backsplash and ventilation for a new range hood. New appliances will include refrigerators, freezers, a new range, dishwasher and garbage disposal.

Dan Mattox of Builders II and Carl Riden of Redmont Homes are the builder captains for this project. Trade partners include Founders Kitchen & Bath, Construction Resources/Atlanta Marble Mfg., Inc., GE Appliances, Interceramic Tile & Stone Gallery, Ai Group, and McCart Plumbing.

Atlanta Mission, established in 1938, is the city’s largest and longest-running provider of homeless services. HomeAid Atlanta is a nonprofit organization working in partnership with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association to provide transitional housing for the temporarily homeless.
