After Halloween, it will be time to put away the pumpkins and skeletons and start pulling out those wreaths, garland and Christmas trees. To get ideas for your holiday decorating, be sure to stop by The Junior Service League of Woodstock’s 17th Annual Holiday Tour of Homes on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10. This highly anticipated event showcases a select number of local residences decorated by professional designers.
One such home is that of James and Wendy Clements in Towne Lake Hills North. Having participated in the Tour of Homes almost 12 years ago, they decided it was the right time to show off their home again. The couple enlisted their interior decorator, Lori North Interiors, to prepare their home for the event.
With its newly painted exterior and stone walls accenting landscaping, you will immediately feel the warmth of this home and be allured to take a peek inside. Upon entering through the large front door supporting a gorgeous wreath and matching garland, you will be drawn to a 12-foot Christmas tree in the two-story foyer that stretches to the top floor. Then, you will notice a lighted garland adorning the curved staircase.
Next, as you make your way through the master suite, you will notice the traditional style that the Clements have incorporated throughout their home. The wonderfully oversized master bathroom with newly painted cabinets, upgraded countertops and luscious new tile make this space a sanctuary for a hot shower or relaxing bath.
Walking through the kitchen, breakfast room and keeping room, you will discover an atmosphere of comfort that is perfect for entertaining during the holidays. The nine-foot tree in the keeping room is brand new and so are the festive ornaments that hang from it.
Upstairs, a grand piano in the loft area and a media room are just off the three secondary bedrooms. Each room is perfectly decorated to show the personality of the couple’s children. One son’s room has a tree with football and baseball ornaments and the other son’s room includes a tree with golf and water sport ornaments. The daughter’s tree features fun little girl ornaments.
As you make your way down to the finished basement, with a theatre room and open bar area, be transformed into a magical world of elves. Through the years, Wendy has added new elves to her collection and each one brings joy.
The entire house, with six trees in all, is tastefully done and ready to make you feel at home for the holidays.
To tour this home and more, be sure to purchase your tickets today for just $20 each. All proceeds from the event are used to support local charitable organizations and directly improve the lives of Cherokee County families. For more information, visit www.jslwoodstock.org.
