Heron Bay residents give back to The Haven House

Logo-Haven_HouseWhat have you done this holiday season to make someone’s life a little bit brighter? Recently, residents of Heron Bay Golf & Country Club decided to get active during the season of giving and began a new tradition that they aptly titled, “The Heron Bay Giving Tree.” The tree, set up in the Lodge, the master-planned community’s clubhouse area, is designed to gather clothing, household items, linens etc…for women and children at the The Haven House in McDonough.

The Haven House is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by domestic violence. While Christmas will soon pass, this organization will no doubt need continued support throughout the year. Donated items not only help to bring victims of domestic violence to a more secure environment, they also help to provide education which in turn will help stop the cycle of violence in counties such as Henry, Jasper, Butts and Lamar.

If you are interested in donating items or monetary contributions to the Haven House, like residents of Heron Bay have, please visit http://www.henryhavenhouse.org/HH-Donate.html#Volunteer. In addition to monetary donations, the organization is also in need of on-site volunteers.

If you are a victim of domestic violence, a 24 hour crisis line (770-954-9229) is always open to handle calls. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
