Heron Bay Golf & Country Club Hosts Luau for Residents

10_swimming_pool-sml.jpgThe Community Association at Heron Bay Golf & Country Club recently hosted a luau with tropical-themed music, games and food for its residents. The luau, which was attended by approximately 400 residents, was organized by the Heron Bay social committee, which was formed in order to cultivate the sense of community within Heron Bay through regular events for residents of all ages.

The luau, held at Heron Bay’s three-pool aquatic center, was designed to not only be a fun summer activity for the children and adults at Heron Bay but also to help build strong bonds of community. The event was catered by Cabana Joe’s and included traditional huli-huli meatballs, tropical fruits and island style macaroni salad. Residents danced to the music of the incredible Hula Halau Kapilialoha, Atlanta’s only hula troupe, and the children participated in underwater games such as bowling, a scavenger hunt and limbo.

“The staff and residents alike at Heron Bay strive to create an environment where each of our residents know that they are a valued member of a group with shared interest,” said Lisa Brutvan, Marketing Director of Heron Bay. The luau was a great success and a perfect summer activity that was a fun way for neighbors to meet and get to know each other. Great Job Heron Bay!
