Help your loved ones find the perfect active adult community

Have you told your grandparents that you love them lately? How about your parents? May is Older Americans Month and I can’t think of a better time to pick up the phone and tell your loved ones just how much they mean to you. I know I will be. Recently, my parent’s made the decision to start looking at active adult communities after having lived in their current home for the past 20 years. The decision left me wondering how I might be able to help them make this transition. Who knew that a conversation with a couple that resides at Jim Chapman Communities, Brookhaven at Lanier Ridge would be just what I was looking for.

During the conversation, I was amazed to learn that there was a maintenance-free community out there that catered to active adults just like my mom and dad. Although my parents are getting older, they still remain very active. With tennis courts, walking trails, a fitness center and pool, I couldn’t but help think that I might have found their new home. I couldn’t wait to call them and tell them more about it.

In addition to the amenities, my folks especially liked learning about the two-bedroom ranch condo with all-brick and stone construction, vaulted ceilings, front porch and open floor plan.

For my folks, who have resided in East Cobb for 20 years, the Brookhaven of East Cobb location appears to be a perfect fit. The community was even recently honored as the Community of the Year at the National Association of Home Builder’s Best of 50+ Housing Awards last month. Mom and dad might be moving in soon.
