In a recent online issue (12/28/06) Brack discusses the evolution in housing in the county from single family to multi-family. In a recent AJC article, developer Wayne Mason annouces plans to build what he calls an Atlantic Station for Gwinnett County. Wayne Mason is an amazing visionary and is largely responsible for making Gwinnett the great place that it is today. It is exciting to think about having an Atlantic Station right here.

That is quite a concept. I really like the idea — it is visionary.
Do you think there is enough demand for this, though? Are there enough people who want to eschew the Hummer lifestyle who could afford this kind of thing?
Especially in an uncertain real estate market, and condos no less?
Just playing devil’s advocate.
The good news is, with the ice caps melting at their current rate, Gwinnett could keep its head above water in 100 years, should the rest of Atlanta look more like Atlantis.
Keep flying down I-85 in your SUVs, folks, and maybe you’ll be one of the lucky ones with beachfront property.
