Green Built Atlanta Condos Named 2008 Development of Excellence
Oakland Park is just receiving awards left and right these days, which only illustrates how extraordinary this Atlanta condo development is. Recently, it was announced that the new Atlanta condos received the Downtown Design Excellence Award, and now Oakland Park is proud to be named the 2008 Development of Excellence by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and Livable Communities Coalition. The Development of Excellence Award, presented jointly by the ARC and Livable Communities Coalition, honors outstanding new developments in the region that are setting the standard for livable, quality growth. There is no question that Oakland Park, being the first LEED certified multi-housing project in Atlanta as one of many examples, is setting the standards for new developments in the city. This prestigious honor is well deserved - congratulations Oakland Park.
The green built Atlanta condos were announced this year’s Development of Excellence at the ARC’s State of the Region Breakfast Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. The Development of Excellence Award is given to developments in the ten-county metro region that exemplify the policies and practices of ARC’s Regional Development Plan. Developments are eligible for selection as a Development of Excellence if they advance the policies and best development practices of the Regional Development Plan. Award winners show how great design can create a positive framework for the future today and showcase how our community is creating innovative and successful developments for the future in the Atlanta Region.
