Green Building Consultant Seville Has Busy Schedule of Industry Appearances
Carl Seville, Atlanta area green builder, educator and consultant on sustainability to the new home and residential construction industry, has experienced a busy month of appearances at builder events. It all began on Thursday, Oct. 8, when he spoke on “Green Retrofitting of Residential and Small Commercial Buildings” at a HalfMoon Seminar in Atlanta. He also recently participated with several other industry experts in a Remodeling Virtual Conference on “Road to Recovery – How to Profit from Government Stimulus Programs.” Seville wrote on the topic “Certified Green: Education and Training for Sustainable Remodeling.”
Next up will be a trip to Indianapolis for three workshops on Tuesday and Wednesday. Oct. 27-28, at the Remodeling Show. The subjects of the sessions will be “Systems: The Diagnostics and Assessment Approach to Remodeling,” “HVAC for Efficiency” and “Tight Envelope – Dry Home: Seven Things That Must Happen.” On November 5, he will give a presentation as part of the Atlanta Chapter of NARI’s education day on “Demystifying Green Certifications – Buildings, People, and Products.” Then he will go to Phoenix on Thursday, Nov. 12, to discuss “Managing Trade Contractors on High Performance Projects” at the Greenbuild 2009 Residential Summit.
Seville, owner of Seville Consulting in Decatur, is a green builder, educator, and consultant on sustainability to the residential construction industry. After a 25-year career in the remodeling industry, he has dedicated himself in recent years to advancing residential green building and remodeling by consulting with, speaking to, writing for, and training industry professionals, and by certifying homes under the LEED, EarthCraft, National Green Building Program, and Energy Star Program. Through Seville Consulting, he offers his expertise to homeowners, contractors, and manufacturers throughout the country working from the company’s office in the metro Atlanta area. He has won more than 100 industry awards, including several of the top awards in green building, and he has held numerous leadership positions in the building and remodeling industries. Seville also originated the concept of the annual Southern Building Show’s Showcase Homes in 2005, serving as project/sponsor coordinator in 2006, 2008, and 2009, and he was the builder for the Showcase Homes in 2005 and 2007.

As a employee of an LEED training company,I am happy to hear someone taking the time to educate people on a better and greener way of building. I believe we all should work on making the environment more eco-friendly for generations to come. Hopefully with his workshops more people will be motivated to make more LEED certified buildings.
