With an elegant casino night staged in three luxurious castles at the newest upscale residential community in the Rockdale/Newton area, more than 125 people were introduced to Underwood Crossing. Seventy-five real estate professionals and invited guests enjoyed poker and roulette in the St. Andrews furnished model, refreshments in the Avignon model and entertainment and Black Jack in the Windsor home. “This was the most fun I’ve ever had at a grand opening,” said real estate agent Carisa Shannon, with Jewel of the South Realty. “The event was so original and fun and the homes here are absolutely breath-taking.” Shannon has already brought perspective buyers back to the community.

Built exclusively by Classic Smith Neighborhoods, Underwood Crossing features five floor plan collections – all custom designed and named for castles in Europe. Currently, representative homes are being built to exemplify these collections. The St. Andrews is Scottish, the Avignon plan is part of the French Collection, the Windsor is English, the Bardi Castle is Italian, and the Marksburg is German. The community will have 90 homes when complete. “The party showcased three of our new designs,” said Brandi Williams with Coldwell Banker American Land Mart, the firm marketing Underwood Crossing. “Guests were able to tour the homes while enjoying a fun and exciting night of gaming, entertainment and prizes.” At the appointed hour, attendees cashed in their chips for play money that they used to bid on grand prizes that included a designer chandelier and a pair of Frigidaire stainless microwave ovens. Dozens of door prizes were awarded, including 20 bundles of $1 bills valued at $50 each. “What a great way to showcase a new-home community,” said Janice Tillman, Century 21 Dwellings (pictured with DJ H. L. Bailey), who was a $50 winner. “I’ve never seen a grand entrance as beautiful as this, and the community lives up to its reputation. It’s a spectacular collection of homes.”

The European-style all-brick homes will have stone and stucco accents, enhanced outdoor lighting and upgraded landscaping. Starting in the $500,000s, each features approximately 3,800 to 4,400 square feet of interior heated space. All homes are built on large basement lots; as an upgrade Classic Smith Neighborhoods will also custom-finish the lower level for media rooms, home theaters, extra bedrooms or home offices. “Each home will be distinctly European and every design will be customized,” Williams said “Classic Smith Neighborhoods is known for its high standards and attention to detail. Mark Smith and his team have created a wonderful community where homeowners literally live a castle lifestyle.” To visit Underwood Crossing, take I-20 east to Exit 82 and turn south for approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Honey Creek Road. Underwood Crossing is 1.7 miles head on the right. Underwood Crossing is being marketed exclusively by Coldwell Banker American Land Mart Inc. Listing agents are Brandi Williams, Betty Denio and Linda Lindsey. The sales office is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For information call 770-483-2323, or visit www.underwoodcrossing.info.
